After the huge success of our 1st ever end-of-year horror awards, we had to bring the FRIGHTIES back again this year. 2023 has been another fantastic year for horror films, both from bigger studios and smaller independent productions. Brand new exciting voices like the Philippou Brothers announced themselves with their amazing debut feature film 'Talk To Me' which was so successful that it is getting a sequel. 2023 also saw the return of horror legends like Jigsaw in 'Saw X' and of course Ghostface in 'Scream VI'. Blumhouse kicked off the year in great fashion with a brand new horror IP 'M3GAN' which looks like it's going to be a franchise and they've ended the year on a solid note too with the massive success of 'Five Nights At Freddy's', their most financially successful film ever.
Streaming services continue to grow from strength to strength in helping to produce and provide a necessary platform for indie horror films, shows and pseudo horror genre titles.
The Fright Club team are super excited to announce the Nominations for the 2nd Annual Frighties Awards, which will be a recurring end-of-year award ceremony celebrating the best of the genre in various categories. Each film included must have been officially released in the UK in 2023 (films screened at festivals do not count unless officially released) and we are including digital and streaming releases.
YOU CAN VOTE below right now in each category and votes will be tallied by the end of December. Winners will be announced on New Year's Day.
